Faulty street lights can also be a reason for crimes on roads and highways. Smart street light management systems address all these issues.
The main aim of a new smart street lighting system is to control energy efficient LED street lights to turn on only when needed and to remain in a dim state otherwise. The system integrates technologies such as: Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor, ZigBee wireless network and dimmable LEDs.
An introduction: Needs no manual operation for switching ON and OFF. When there is a need of light it automatically switches ON. When darkness rises to a certain level then sensor circuit gets activated and switches ON and when there is other source of light i.e. daytime, the street light gets OFF.
By using this Automatic system for street light controlling, we can reduce energy consumption because the manually operated street lights are not switched off properly even the sunlight comes and also not switched on earlier before sunset.
It also poses a serious threat to the villagers from physical hazards such as thieves, snakebites, etc. Installation of street lights may seem a pleasant option. Hence the best option is to install solar powered street lights and moving a step ahead, we designed this ‘Solar Powered Smart Street Lighting System with IOT’.
